GLASSBORO, N.J. - The York Spartan baseball team traveled to New Jersey to take on the Rowan University Professors, Monday afternoon. In a closely contested game, the Spartans fell short, 2-1.

The Green and White scored first. In the top of the second inning,
Brett Michael tripled to lead off things off. Michael later scored on a RBI groundout from
Joe Urban.
York held the Profs scoreless until the bottom of the seventh inning. Rowan's Brayden Davis hit a two-run single to take a 2-1 lead over the Spartans.
The Green and White threatened in the top of the ninth inning, loading the bases. Rowan was able to escape the jam, claiming the 2-1 victory.
CJ Scism started on the mound for the Spartans. In six innings of work, he allowed no runs, four hits, and two walks. Scism struck out two Rowan batters.
Sam Ross was credited with the loss. He allowed two hits, two runs, and two walks in an inning of work. He struck out one.
Jason Cassidy came in for the eighth inning. In one inning pitched, Cassidy recorded a clean sheet, striking out one.
Notes
York is now 9-16 all-time against Rowan … the Spartans are now 4-9 on the road against the Profs … The Green and White now hold a 4-6 record in their last 10 match-ups against Rowan.
