Top-Seed Spartans Cruise to Commonwealth Title Game

YORK, Pa. - The top-seed York men's lacrosse team ran away with a 26-12 Commonwealth Semifinal victory over fourth-seed Eastern at home on Wednesday night.

Highlights
The Eagles struck first with a goal less than a minute in, but the momentum suddenly shifted in York's favor as the Spartans ripped off nine-straight goals to end the first quarter. Cory Bergmann fueled the run with three goals while Nate Schilling racked up two goals and an assist.

The two teams combined for 10 goals in the second quarter with York extending their lead to double-digits, 16-4, by the halftime break. The Eagles strung together four goals in the fourth quarter to bring their total to double figures on the night.

Nate Schilling led the offensive barrage with seven points on a season-high six goals. The faceoff unit also shined as Ryan Hudson (12) and Brady Watts (10) combined to win 22 of 28 faceoffs on the night.

The Spartans extended their win streak to 14 straight which stands alone as the second-longest streak in program history.
