SALISBURY, Md. – The Spartan softball team traveled to Salisbury University on Sunday afternoon. York went on to drop both games of the doubleheader by a score of 15-3 and 12-4.

How It Happened
York got its first two runs on the board in the top of the third inning. Allison Hunsburger scored on a passed ball, plating the Green and White's first run of the game.
Ashlyn Weigle brought in the second run on a RBI groundout, plating
Kate Miller.
The Green and White's third run was scored in the fifth inning on a
Noelle Smith double, scoring
Gretchen Barstad.
Natalie Rietema started in the circle for York.
Courtney Freese pitched in relief, allowing five hits in four innings. She struck out four Seagulls.

How it Happened
Alexis McDonaugh brought in the first Spartan run in the top of the first inning, getting hit by a pitch with bases loaded.
The Seagulls tied it up in the bottom half of the inning.
Gretchen Barstad doubled to center field in the top of the second inning, scoring
Danella Silagy, to give York a 2-1 lead.
The Green and White scored two more runs in the top of the third inning.
Bri McKeown hit a solo shot. Allison Hunsburger followed with an RBI single, extending the Spartan lead to 4-1.
The Seagulls went on to score 11 unanswered runs, securing a 12-4 victory.
Kyrsten Coppage started in the circle for the Green and White.
Gretchen Barstad came in for relief, allowing 11 hits, eight earned runs, and three walks in 4.1 innings of work. She struck out three batters.

York is now 4-38 all-time against Salisbury… The Green and White hold an 1-21 record on the road against the Seagulls… The Spartans have now lost 10-straight to Salisbury.
