#8 Men’s Lacrosse Caps Regular Season with Win at Alvernia

READING, Pa. - The No. 8 York men's lacrosse team put a bow on the regular season with a 21-3 victory at Alvernia on Saturday.

Highlights
The Spartan defense posted a first half shutout and held the Golden Wolves to just seven total shots while the offense racked up eight goals in each of the first two quarters to take a 16-0 halftime lead. Alvernia's Keegan Driscoll tallied the opening goal of the third quarter and went on to tally two more for all three AU goals on the day.

The York faceoff unit went 26-for-27 on the day with Ryan Hudson (13) and Brady Watts (12) combining to go 25-for-25. Davis Fisher led the offense with a career-high tying nine points on three goals and six assists. Cory Bergmann also had a big offensive day with seven points on two goals and a career-best five assists. Gavin Gismondi led all players with five goals on the day.

The Spartan defense limited the Golden Wolves to season-lows in goals and shots (15) as they held their eighth-straight opponent to single digits.

York has finished undefeated in regular season Commonwealth play for five consecutive seasons with a record of 37-0 during that span.

The Spartans enter the postseason riding a 13-game win streak which is tied for the second-longest streak in program history.
