BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Spartan softball team traveled to Moravian University, Tuesday. The Green and White dropped both games in the series, 2-0 and 8-0.

How It Happened
Both teams were held scoreless through the first five innings. 

In the bottom of the sixth inning, the Greyhounds scored the first runs of the game. Moravian took a 2-0 lead on a RBI double and RBI single. 

York's offense was led by Madison Karpovich, Danella Silagy and Noelle Smith, tallying a hit a piece. 

Courtney Freese was in the circle for the Green and White. Freese pitched the complete game, allowing eight hits and two earned runs. She struck out six and walked one.

How it Happened
The Spartans scattered eight runs across six innings. 

York had three hits in the game. Danella Silagy and Ashlyn Weigle recorded singles, and Bri McKeown roped a double. 

Gretchen Barstad was in the circle for the Green and White. She pitched 4.1 innings, surrendering 13 hits and five runs (three earned). 

Courtney Freese came in for one inning of relief. She allowed three runs on two hits.

York is now 1-2 all-time against Moravian… This is the first time that the Spartans traveled to Moravian … The Spartans last faced the Greyhounds in 2009.
