Batista Qualifies For Indoor Nationals

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - York College freshman Trinity Batista will be heading to the 2026 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships as the full list of qualifiers were announced on Sunday evening.

Batista will be competing in the high jump and punched her ticket the day before the list of qualifiers was finalized. The freshman posted a personal-best height of 1.67m to finish second at the All-Atlantic Regional Track and Field Conference Indoor Championships on Saturday, March 7, 2026.

The top-20 individuals in each event qualify for the national meet and the Spartan rookie enters with the 18th-best height in the nation.

Batista is just the second female indoor national qualifier in York College history, joining Julie Pena (2023) on that exclusive list and is the first Spartan freshman to make it to the  indoor national meet. Jasmine Smith (2012) is York's only other female national qualifier as she competed in long jump at the outdoor championships as a rookie.

The NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships is set for March 13-14 at the Birmingham Crossplex in Birmingham, Ala. The women's high jump is slated for a 12:30 p.m. start on Saturday, March 14.
