Spartans Shut Out Seahawks in Series Finale

Predergast and Wade homer for the Green and White

York, Pa. - The York baseball team closed out a three-game series with St. Mary's College of Maryland, Sunday afternoon. The Spartans put on an offensive clinic, taking the series and defeating the Seahawks, 11-0.

Highlights 
The Spartans wasted no time scoring. In the bottom of the first, Matthew Wade hit a three-run jack, scoring Jason Cassidy and Alex Neeld

In the bottom of the second inning, the Green and White tacked on five more runs. Lucas Prendergast roped a three-run home run to right field, scoring Brett Michael and Jackson Ford. Later in the inning, the Spartans had RBI singles from Jason CassidyJacob Deimling, and Joe Urban to extend the lead to 8-0. 

Joe Urban hit a sacrifice fly in the fourth, putting the Spartans ahead, 9-0. 

York added its final two insurance runs in the fifth, with RBI singles from Alex Neeld and Matthew Wade

Dillon Michaloski started on the bump for the Spartans, tossing six innings of scoreless baseball allowing a mere three hits and striking out four. 

Eric Wolfer closed out the game, pitching an inning and tallying a strikeout. 

Notes
York is now 53-14 all-time against St. Mary's … the Spartans are now 31-6 all-time against the Seahawks at home … five Spartans had a multi-hit game in today's contest … Alex Neeld went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate … The Green and White recorded its first shutout of the season.
