Fourth Quarter Rally Propells #4 Salisbury Past #7 York

SALISBURY, Md. - A huge fourth quarter rally by No. 4 Salisbury made the difference in a 14-10 victory over the seventh-ranked York women's lacrosse team on Saturday on the eastern shore.

Team Records
#7 York: 6-3
#4 Salisbury: 11-0

Highlights
The Sea Gulls ripped off six-straight goals on their way to a 7-1 fourth-quarter run to clinch the win after entering the final period trailing by two. A pair of woman-up goals early in the quarter sparked the Salisbury rally after Spartan defender Liberty Topka was charged with a yellow card and was locked in for the full two minutes.

The Spartans held the upper hand early as they led by as much as 6-2 deep into the first half as they out-scored the Gulls, 5-2, in the second quarter. Salisbury fought back in the third quarter with a 4-3 goal differential before finishing the second half with an 11-4 advantage.

Spartan midfielder Sydney Mentzer led all players with a career-high eight points on four goals and a career-best four assists. York goalie Audrey Simoes racked up 10 saves for her fourth-straight double-digit save performance.
