#9 Men’s Lacrosse Rolls Past Etown

YORK, Pa. - The No. 9 York men's lacrosse team jumped out in front early and never lifted their foot off the gas on their way to a 18-5 victory over Elizabethtown at home on Wednesday night.

Highlights
The Spartans posted a first quarter shutout while scoring five times in the opening period with Gavin Gismondi leading the way with three goals during that span. Nate Schilling cashed in on the man-up unit early in the second quarter which capped a 6-0 run to start the game. The Blue Jays tallied twice in the second quarter, but York countered with two as the Spartans held a 9-2 halftime advantage.

York opened the third quarter scoring five unanswered goals and ended the quarter with a 5-1 advantage to take a 14-2 lead. The Spartans ripped off four-straight to start the fourth quarter, sparked by a pole goal by Colin Kane, and went up by 15 early in the quarter before the Blue Jays tacked on a pair in the final six minutes.

Schilling led all players in points (7) and goals (5) on the night, while Gismondi posted four goals and Davis Fisher led all players with three assists. Ryan Hudson led the Spartan faceoff unit with a 12-for-13 performance which kept momentum on York's side. Nash Womack made seven saves and allowed just three goals in 49 minutes of work.

The Spartans will take on Grove City on Saturday at 6 p.m. in a neutral site matchup at Tierney Field in Sparks, Md.
