YORK, Pa. - The York College baseball team hosted Eastern University, Sunday afternoon. The Spartans shut out the Eagles in the series finale, improving to 2-1 in conference play and 6-7 overall.

Highlights
Both the Eagles and the Spartans went three-up, three-down through the first two innings.
The Spartans got the first base runner of the game on when
Brett Michael walked. He later advanced to second on a wild pitch. With two outs,
Lucas Prendergast roped a double to center, scoring Michael.
The Eagles' first hit of the game came in the top of the fourth inning.
The two other Spartan hits were from
Jackson Ford and Chase Goodman. Goodman's hit was a double.
In the pitcher's duel,
Brian McDermott went the distance for the Spartans. In eight innings of work, McDermott allowed just two hits and walked one. He struck out five Eagles.
Jake Ludwig earned his first save of the season, pitching the ninth inning and recording a clean sheet.

York is now 15-10 all-time against Eastern … the Spartans are now 6-4 at home against the Eagles … Overall, the Spartans and Eagles have a 9-9 record against each other in conference play … Prendergast now has a ten-game hit streak.
