YORK, Pa. - The York baseball team hosted #27/#18 Gettysburg College on a brisk Thursday afternoon. The Spartans had a big fourth inning, establishing momentum and pulling away with a 8-7 victory.

The Bullets put up three run in the top of the first inning with three-straight RBI singles.
York quickly added two runs of its own in the bottom half of the first inning.

The Spartans showed their power in the bottom half of the fourth inning with
Bryce Avery and Ryan Niedzilkowski each hitting two-run home runs, putting the Green and White ahead, 6-3.
Luke Moser brought in York's seventh run in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI single.
Gettysburg tacked on two runs in the top half of the sixth on a double from Will Stellato.
The Green and White had an insurance run cross the plate in the bottom half of the sixth inning, as
Lucas Prendergast scored on a groundout from Kline.
The Bullets scored their sixth run in the eighth inning on a ground out from Stellato.
In the ninth inning, the Bullets threatened. Mike Coleman was hit by a pitch and Jack Amirata walked, putting runners at first and second with no outs.
Jason Cassidy came out of the pen for the Spartans, entering the save situation. Cassidy retired the next three batters on a fly out and two grounds, allowing one run to cross the plate while preserving the 8-7 Spartan win.
CJ Scism started on the bump for the Spartans. In 5.1 innings of work, he allowed six hits, five runs (three earned), and five walks. Scism struck out two Bullets.
Lane Berkey tossed .2 innings for the Spartans, recording a clean sheet.
Jason Cassidy earned his third save of the season.
