Women’s Cross Country Finishes Seventh at Galen Piper to Open Season

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The York College women's cross country team opened the 2025 season finishing seventh out of nine teams at the 15th Annual Galen Piper Cross Country Challenge hosted by Shippensburg University on Friday night.

Messiah won the team title by two points ahead of Shippensburg. Shippensburg Alumni, Frostburg State and Elizabethtown rounded out the top-five.

Junior Isabel Tenney led the way for York with a 23rd-place finish with a 4K personal-best time of 16:28.1.

Sophomore Kayla Reidenbaugh led a small pack of Spartans with a 36th-place finish as freshmen Sierra Blaker finished 40th and Lily Arnold took 42nd.

Junior Taylor Wickard led another cluster of Spartans with  a 57th-place finish, while Samantha Sterner finished 59th and sophomore Angelina Hammond rounded out York's top-seven in 62nd place.

The Spartans return to the course on Saturday, September 20 at the Aggie Open hosted by Delaware Valley University.
