HOBOKEN, NJ – The York College women's soccer squad finished Saturday's MAC Crossover match with a 1-1 tie against Stevens on Saturday afternoon in Hoboken, New Jersey.
After a very quiet first half, the teams notched their goals in the second 45 minutes of play.
The Spartans are now 5-3-2 overall as they have tied two matches in a row. The Ducks are now 2-2-5.

How It Happened
• The first half was lacking in any really dangerous offensive chances for either team. The Spartans held a slight 5-4 edge in total shots while Stevens put two on cage to just one shot on goal for the Spartans. Both teams had four corner kicks in the half.
• The Spartans got on the board less than ten minutes into the second half thanks to a great effort from
Meg Kalthof. Teammate
Abby Brown served a ball in from the midfield before it caromed off a Ducks defender. Kalthof collected the rebound, took two long touches before unloading a 22-yard bomb from just outside the right top of the box. The sniper shot found the upper left 90 as York took the 1-0 lead. The goal was Kalthof's team-leading sixth of the season.
• The Ducks notched the equalizer with just under 20 minutes left in the game. Stevens had possession along the right sideline, setting up a scoring chance. That chance came when Angela Dinh drove the ball towards the endline and then flicked a pass into the box. The pass found the foot of Sarah Wnorowski who slipped a shot inside the left post, tying the game at one.
• Both teams were limited in their offensive chances after the tie. York out-shot the Ducks 13-11 while both teams put four shots on target. Stevens held a slight 6-5 margin in corner kicks.
