YORK, Pa. - The York men's soccer team squandered a two-goal second half lead in a 3-2 loss at home on Saturday to University of Rochester.

How It Happened
York jumped on the board first as Matt Martin netted his third tally of the season in the 11th minute of play. The Spartans reversed field from right to left as Gavin Huey flipped a pass over to Shaun Apsley at the left back position who then sent a leading pass to Talen Popolis left the goal. Popolis ran on to Apsley's pass and sent a centering pass in front of the goal mouth where Martin knocked it in from six yards out.

The Spartans generated multiple chances from the 29th-31st minute, but came up empty after two shots were saved by Rochester keeper Ben Ziegler and a shot by Tannor Wiszneski from 10 yards out that clanked off the crossbar.

The Spartans extended the lead to 2-0 in the 55th minute of play on a corner set piece when Dylan Marco knocked in his second goal of the season. Apsley sent the ball in from the right corner and his service was knocked down, but not controlled by Ziegler. The loose ball was then promptly banged in by Marco who slipped free from the defense on the backside of the play.

Rochester quickly countered in the 56th minute when Milos Bisenic converted a penalty kick after Kamal Ibrahim was fouled inside the box on the end line.

After tasting the back of the net with the PK, Bisenic remained thirsty for more and delivered twice more for his squad with brilliant unassisted goals in the 61st and 64th minutes to put Rochester ahead, 3-2.

The Spartans generated four more shots in the final 17 minutes of, but managed to put only one on target as they ultimately conceded victory to Rochester.
