Spartan Men Finish third at MAC Championships with Two Award Winners

YORK, Pa. – The York men's track and field team came in third place out of 15 teams at the conclusion of the Middle Atlantic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by York College on Saturday.

Senior thrower Andrew Mott was named the MAC Men's Field Athlete of the Year as he won both the discus and the shot put for the second-consecutive season.

Pole vault coach Taylor Stone earned the title of MAC Men's Assistant Coach of the Year. Under Stone's leadership, the Spartan men's pole vaulters compiled 23.5 points with a gold and a silver medal.

Top Performances
York earned a pair of podium spots in the shot put with Andrew Mott finishing first and Nick Bordovsky taking fourth. Mott defended his shot put title and increased his own school record with a throw of 17.45m (58' 8.50") which is top-five in the country  this season.

Shaun Apsley became a MAC Champion in the 400m hurdles with a personal-best time of 53.18 which is just .02 off the school record pace set in 2011. He is now a two-time medalist in the event after taking silver last season.

A trio of Spartans landed on the podium in the javelin, led by Jake Bono who took third for the second-straight year. Ethan Jones took sixth and Beau Linsenbigler finished eighth.

Quincy Hardison, Brody Bonham, Hamed Diallo and Hunter Moore took second in the 4x100m relay and tied the school record from 2009 with a time of 41.95

Apsley, Moore, Bonham and Diallo finished fifth in the 4x400m relay with a school record time of 3:21.49, taking down the previous record time of 3:21.89 set in 2014.
