How It Happened
The Spartans set the tone when Gavin Gismondi buried the opening goal of the game six seconds after the opening faceoff. Hugo Spencer sparked and continued to fuel York's offensive barrage as he won the first nine faceoffs of the game which resulted in a 10-2 York lead at the end of the first quarter.

Spencer compiled 11 total faceoff wins in the first quarter while the Bullets won just two. Nate Schilling also had a monster first-quarter performance as he racked up five points on three goals and two assists. Coleton Mahorney joined Schilling with a first-quarter hat trick for the Spartans.

The Bullets gained some rhythm in the second quarter and put seven of their eight total shots on target which resulted in five goals. The Spartans managed to keep their distance as they racked up four more goals in the second stanza including two more by Schilling as York took a 14-7 lead into the halftime break.

York limited Gettysburg to just two shots on goal in the third quarter and outscored the Bullets, 4-2, to take a commanding 18-9 lead with one quarter left to play. Gismondi buried a pair in the last three minutes of the third quarter which put the game out of reach as the Spartans took a nine-goal lead.

The Spartans closed out the game by winning four out of five faceoffs in the fourth quarter which helped limit the Bullet offense to just two tallies. Cory Bergmann and Schilling added a pair of empty-net goals in the closing minutes to put a bow on York's dominant performance.
