How It Happened
The Spartans put the Falcons on their heels from the start and took a 3-0 lead within the first three minutes. York kept the momentum by winning eight consecutive draw controls to start the game which resulted in a 6-2 lead by the end of one quarter of play.

York continued to dominate at the draw in the second quarter, winning five of seven, but Messiah flipped the script on the scoreboard as they out-scored the Spartans, 4-2. The Falcons scored twice within the first five minutes of the second quarter to cut their deficit to just two. York responded with a player-down goal by Zoe Kluegel followed by a player-up goal by Gianna Huet less than a minute later to bump the lead back up to four. Messiah countered a minute after Huet's goal and then reduced the Spartan lead back to two heading into halftime on Jordan Lewicki's second goal of the quarter.

The Spartans took control of the game following a 5-0 third-quarter effort in which they caused four Falcon turnovers and goalie Bella Garabo made three saves. Five different Spartans scored in the quarter including Kluegel and Logan Ward who each netted their third goals of the day.

Huet netted back-to-back goals for the Spartans in the first 2:10 of the fourth quarter to cap off a seven-goal run as York owned a 15-6 lead. Lewicki scored with 12:15 left for her third goal of the day which ended up being the only goal scored in the second half for Messiah. Garabo came up clutch for the Spartans with five fourth-quarter saves as she racked up eight of her 10 in the second half.
