ELIZABETHTOWN, PA – The York College baseball squad picked up a big non-conference win as they downed Elizabethtown College 4-2 on Monday in Elizabethtown, PA.
The Spartan win snaps a 12-game winning streak for the Blue Jays.
York improves to 18-16 overall while Elizabethtown falls to 22-11.

How It Happened
• The Spartans opened the scoring in the third inning as they loaded the bases with one out in the frame. York scored on a
Chris Betler fielder's choice, scoring
Chris Nesensohn who opened the inning by getting hit by a pitch.
Alex Neeld then made it 2-0 with a sacrifice fly that scored
Lucas Prendergast. Elizabethtown's Mason Woolwine sliced the Spartan lead in half with an RBI single in the bottom of the inning.
• Each team scored a run in the fifth. York got their run as
Brett Michael walked and came around to score on a Prendergast RBI double to right for the 3-1 lead. The Blue Jays got the run right back in the bottom of the frame courtesy of a Quinten Perilli RBI single to left.
• York added a big insurance run in the sixth.
Ryan Niedzialkowski and
Richard Kline drew back-to-back walks to start the inning.
Jackson Ford moved them up 90 feet each with a sacrifice bunt. Michael scored Niedzialkowski with a sacrifice fly and a 4-2 Spartan lead.

Jason Cassidy and
Ethan Kennedy made that lead stand. Cassidy threw scoreless frames in the eighth and ninth. Kennedy then picked up his career-high sixth save of the year with an eight pitch ninth inning in which he retired each of the three Blue Jays he faced.
