York loaded the bases but Salisbury got the next two outs as York looked like they might come up dry. Ryan Niedzialkowski reached on an error to score two runs. Richard Kline followed with an RBI single to give the Spartans a 6-0 lead.
• Spartan starter Dillon Michaloski was cruising into the fifth. The Sea Gulls began the inning with a single and the Spartans committed their first error of the inning. After a walk loaded the bases, Jake Witter lashed a single to left to get the Gulls on the board. Max Ehrhardt singled to right, scoring two as the York lead was trimmed to three. After a pop up to short, the Spartans committed a second error to load the bases. Noah Burroughs made the Spartans pay with a grand slam to right center for the 7-6 Salisbury lead.
• The Spartans responded by tying the game in the bottom of the fifth as Kline notched his second RBI single of the game. The Sea Gulls recaptured the lead in the sixth as Ehrhardt recorded a single to left for the 8-7 lead.
• York tied the game one final time in the seventh. Chris Betler led off the inning with a single up the middle. Gabe Trevena moved Betler to second with a sacrifice bunt before Betler moved to third on a wild pitch. After a strikeout, Niedzialkowski served a single to right, scoring Betler with York's eighth run.
• Salisbury got a lead-off triple from Trent Waire in the eighth. York got a strikeout before Ehrhardt recorded his fifth RBI of the day with a sacrifice fly to right for the 9-8 lead.
