Men’s Lacrosse Secures Playoff Berth With Senior Day Victory

YORK, Pa. - The No. 15 York men's lacrosse team locked up a Commonwealth postseason spot with a 19-8 victory over Widner at home Senior Day Saturday.

Team Records
Widener 4-11 (3-2 MACC)
#15 York 12-3 (5-0 MACC)

How It Happened
The Spartans put eight of nine shots on goal in the first quarter and came away with a 4-0 lead as Widener goalie Keegan Billie made four saves. Davis Fisher and Nate Schilling each had a goal and an assist to lead the offense, while Brady Watts won three of the four draws he took.

York turned up the heat in the second quarter and pumped in seven more goals to take an 11-3 halftime lead. After Matt Buckley opened the second quarter scoring and put Widener on the board, the Spartans ripped off four-straight with a pair by Schilling. The Pride responded with consecutive tallies to cut the York lead down to five, but the Spartans countered with three goals in the final three minutes.

Schilling led all scores with four goals in the first half, while Colby Berard netted a hat trick. Fisher handed out four assists as he and Schilling tied for the halftime point lead with five each.

Seven different Spartans netted second-half goals as York scored four times in each of the final two quarters while surrendering just five. Sean O'Reilly was the only repeat goal scorer for the Spartans in the second half as he now has seven tallies on the season. Grant Miller capped off the scoring with his first goal of the season.
