How It Happened
• After the Lions got two outs in the bottom of the first, Alex Neeld stepped to the plate with Michael Tinneny on first. Neeld blasted a Josh Tudor pitch over the left field wall for the 2-0 Spartan lead. York added two runs in the second as Chris Nesensohn doubled to score Jacob Deimling to make it 3-0. Nesensohn scored on an RBI single from Dawson Shelley.
• Albright got on the board in the third on a hit, two errors and a pair of hit batters. It could have been worse but Evan Hughes left the bases loaded to end the threat. York exploded for five runs in the bottom of the third as Neeld hit a solo homer to lead off the frame. The Spartans loaded the bases with two outs and Jason Cassidy plated a pair with an RBI single to right. The Spartans scored their fifth run of the inning on a wild pitch for the 9-1 lead.
• The Spartans added four more runs in the fourth. Matthew Wade ripped a two-run double to left and York scored the next run on a balk. Wade then scored on an RBI ground out from Shelley to make it 13-1.
• Albright got a pair of unearned runs in the fifth off Hughes as they trimmed the York lead to ten. The Lions added a single run in the sixth on a Jack Gilmer RBI single. Deimling singled to open the top of the sixth and he eventually came around to score on a wild pitch for the 14-4 lead. York tacked on four more in the seventh as Tinneny ripped an RBI single to right center for the first run of the inning. Neeld drove in another run with a sacrifice fly and Joe Urban blasted a no-doubt-about-it home run to deep left for the 18-4 lead.
• Albright got a three-run homer from Tommy Lewman in the top of the eighth to trim the York lead to 18-7. York responded with the final two runs of the game courtesy of a Lucas Prendergast RBI double to left center followed by a Ryan Niedzialkowski double to score Prendergast. Yandel Tolentino set the Lions down in order to close out the ninth.
