Tate Landis has been tabbed the MAC Commonwealth Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending February 23.
Landis powered the Spartans to two more wins to end the regular season and clinch a share of the MAC Commonwealth regular season title.
In the Wednesday win over Widener, Landis poured in a career-high 24 points, three assists and three steals in his 33 minutes of work. He was 8-for-13 from the floor, 7-for-11 from three and 1-for-1 from the stripe. The seven made three pointers were a new career-high for the junior. In the dramatic Saturday win over Hood, Landis had 12 points, five rebounds, four assists, a steal and a blocked shot in 32 minutes of play.
For the week, Landis averaged 18 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals in his 65 minutes of action. He shot 52.4% (11-for-21) from the floor, including 8-for-16 (50%) from three and a perfect 6-for-6 from the free throw line. For the season, Landis is averaging 8.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.8 steals per game. He is shooting 37.3% from the floor and 35.3% from three as he has 38 made three pointers.
