How It Happened
A steal and a slam by Jayden Rowe gave the home Spartan fans an exciting first two points of the game, but the rest of the game was an uphill battle for York. A quick six-point response from Ursinus gave the Bears a very early four-point lead and showed the rest of the game would be a real test for the Spartans.

York continued to battle, gaining their largest lead of the game when Tate Landis connected on a jumper with 9:56 to go before the half to give the Spartans an 18-13 advantage. The Bears were quick to respond again, going on a 13-0 run over the next four minutes to give them a 26-18 lead with 5:48 remaining in the first half. The Spartans fought from behind for the rest of the half, going down by as many as 15, but managed to cut their deficit to 12 on a Landis three as the teams headed into the break with York trailing, 39-27.

Coming out of the half, the Bears continued to give the Spartans all they could handle and took a 17-point lead, their largest of the game, just over three minutes out of the break. York continued to compete, cutting the lead down to single digits on another Landis three with 12:19 to go (49-40). Ursinus, never failing to respond, worked their lead back up to as many as 13 as the teams continued to trade runs.

York, gaining some momentum, was able to cut the deficit back down to seven thanks to a quick five-point spurt from Rowe with just over nine minutes remaining. The Spartans and Bears would continue to go back and forth with York going on small runs and Ursinus continually responding.

Spartan guard Cooper Haberern knocked down a deep three with 6:06 to go, cutting the Ursinus lead to just four, but the Bears never allowed the Spartans to get over the hump. Ursinus again went on another run of their own to push the lead back up to as many as thirteen. York managed to cut the Bears' lead back down to four when Rowe knocked down a jumper with 3:51 to go, but that would be as close as York would get before Ursinus closed out the win.
