FREDERICK, MD – The York College men's soccer squad picked up a 3-0 MAC Commonwealth road win at Hood College in Frederick, Maryland on Wednesday night.
The Spartans got a goal in the first half and then a pair of insurance goals in the second for the league win.
The Spartans are now 7-4-5 overall and 2-1-1 in the MAC Commonwealth. Hood falls to 9-3-2 overall and 2-1-1 in the league.
 
How It Happened
• The Spartans had an early flurry in the ninth minute. Gavin Huey fired off a shot that was saved by Hood goalie Adam Labows. The Spartans got a follow up off the rebound but the apparent goal was wiped away by an offsides. York broke through three minutes later as Colin Findlay slipped a pass into the box where a hard-charging Huey collected the pass and hammered home a shot for the 1-0 lead.
• The Green and White carried the play the remainder of the half as they out-shot the Blazers 8-1 including 3-0 in shots on goal in the first 45 minutes of play. York also had the only three corners in the first half.
• The Spartans made it 2-0 in the 56^th minute as Huey received a pass in the box. He was surrounded by Blazers so he flipped a pass to the outside of the box. Freshman Philip Titiloye hit an absolute rocket into the upper left 90 for the two-goal lead. The Green and White tacked on a third goal in the 78^th minute as Aiden Hall dribbled in from the left side of the box and unleashed a wicked shot that found the back of the net for his first goal of the year.
• The Spartans finished the game with a commanding 15-6 bulge in total shots including a 6-2 margin in shots on goal. York held an 8-1 margin in corner kicks for the game.

The Spartans are now 11-0 all-time against the Blazers … York picked up their sixth shutout of the year and second in MAC Commonwealth play … Gavin Huey recorded his team-leading fifth goal of the year to get the scoring started … Philip Titiloye and Aiden Hall each scored their first goals of the year … sophomore Chase Broughman improved to 5-3-4 with his third full shutout of the campaign … York is 3-1-1 over their last five as they are now 4-1-3 away from Graham Field … York had more shots than their 11^th opponent this year as they are now 7-2-2 when they out-shoot their opponents … York has allowed just 18 shots on goal in their last six games.

The Spartans return to action for their final regular season road game of the year as they head to Widener University on Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth action. Kick-off is set for 3:00 pm in Chester, PA.
