How It Happpend
• The first quarter was a total standstill as neither team had a shot or had a corner in the opening 15 minutes of the game. The second quarter wasn't much more offensive as the Spartans had two shots and a corner while the Mustangs were blanked in both categories.
• Stevenson broke the scoreless tie 6:07 into the second half as they made a push towards the Spartan defensive third. The ball got played into the box where it pinged around before Lauren Tobin poked home the opportunity for a 1-0 lead. York wouldn't be able to get their offense rolling in the third as they attempted just one shot for the quarter.
• The Spartans got a little bit more offensive traction in the fourth quarter but it wouldn't be enough for the Green and White. With three minutes left in regulation, the Spartans garnered a penalty corner. Junior
Olivia Miller struck a great ball that looked like it was destined to tie the game, however the shot glanced off the post, preventing the Spartans from tying the game. The Spartans got a follow up off the shot that hit the post but that one went wide in York's best fourth quarter chance. York's
Claire Burrows did fire a shot on goal in the final 50 seconds but Jordan Vradenburgh made the save to preserve the Mustang shutout.
• York out-shot the Mustangs 7-3 overall while Stevenson had a 3-2 edge in shots on goal. The Spartans had the only three penalty corners of the game.
