Jackson Mascari has been named the MAC Commonwealth Men's Basketball Player of the Week as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.
Mascari led the Spartans to a pair of big wins to kick off York's MAC Commonwealth campaign.
For the week, Mascari averaged 20 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in the two victories. He shot 50% (15-for-30) from the floor and 50% (9-for-18) from three.
In Wednesday's 22-point win at Alvernia, Mascari had 17 points and 10 rebounds in his 31 minutes of play. Mascari added two assists and a blocked shot as he was 7-for-15 from the floor and 3-for-7 from three. The double-double was his first of the year and the eighth of his Spartan career and the win snapped an 11-game losing skid against the Golden Wolves.
In the win over preseason Commonwealth favorite Eastern, Mascari poured in a career-high 23 points as he also grabbed eight rebounds for the Spartans. In addition to his points and rebounds, Mascari also had a season-high five assists and a steal. He was 8-for-15 from the floor including drilling a career-high six three pointers in 11 attempts for York.
For the season, Mascari is averaging 13.3 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. He is shooting 48.8% from the floor, 40% from three and 60.4% from the free throw line. He has totals 33 assists, 13 steals and nine blocked shots in 13 games for the Green and White.
