FLEETWOOD, PA – The York College men's golf team cruised to the tournament title at the 2024 MAC Preview Tournament hosted by Albright College at Glen Oaks Country Club in Fleetwood, PA.

The Spartans finished with a team score of 296, winning the tournament by six strokes over Elizabethtown as the Blue Jays finished second at 302. Alvernia placed third with a team score of 305.

Not only did the Spartans win the team title but Gavin Ganter earned the individual medalist honors after five playoff holes against Elizabethtown's Chris Kilduff. Ganter had five straight pars in the playoff to outlast Kilduff to earn the individual title.

Ganter finished the round with a score of 72 to lead the Green and White. The win is Ganter's second career championship as he also won the 2023 MAC Commonwealth individual title at the PB Dye Golf Club.

Jason Velez also played well for the Green and White as he shot a one-over-par 73 as he finished third in the tournament. Thomas O'Connell was York's third finisher as carded a two-over-par 74. York's final tournament scorer was Jacob Fripp as he shot a 77 for the Green and White.

Matthew Salter was York's tournament participant as he shot a 78.

The Spartans conclude their regular season next weekend as they head to the Emory University Invitational at the Cherokee Run Golf Club in Conyers, Georgia. The two-day tournament kicks off Saturday, April 20 at 12:00 pm. Day two of the tournament is set for a 10:00 am tee time.
