#17 Spartans Blank Eastern, 19-0

ST. DAVIDS, Pa. - The No. 17 York women's lacrosse team picked up their fourth-straight win in a 19-0 conference road victory over Eastern on Saturday.

How It Happened
The Spartans jumped out to a 9-0 lead at the end of one quarter of play with a staggering 15-2 shot advantage and an 8-2 edge in draw controls. Madison Kurland and Lauren Gillies each tallied a pair to lead the Spartan scoring effort, while Gianna Huet posted three assists and Natalie Neiman compiled three points on a goal and two assists.

After scoring just once in the second quarter, the Spartans racked up five tallies and held the Eagles without a shot in the third quarter. Katie Jeanes scored her first-career goal in the period and added second on the very next Spartan possession. Leah Vacin scored her first-career goal in the third quarter as well. Jeanes later added another tally to bring her third-quarter total to three.

York put four more goals on the board in the fourth quarter by four different players, capped off by Sarah Christensen who notched her first goal of the season. Juliana Silvernale also scored in the fourth quarter for her second hat trick of the week and to bring her season total to 10.

The Spartans remain on the road and travel to Stevenson on Wednesday for a commonwealth tilt with the Mustangs at 7 p.m.

The Spartans improve to 4-0 all-time against Eastern … York registered the sixth shutout in program history on Saturday, including the second against Eastern … the Spartans have out-scored the Eagles 86-3 in the four meetings between the two programs … the Spartans set season-highs for points (30) assists (38) and caused turnovers (11) … York extended their win streak to a season-high four games and has out-scored opponents 69-15 in those games.
