How It Happened
Madison Kurland netted the game's first tally 50 seconds after the opening draw which sparked a four-goal run with four different Spartans doing the scoring. Alvernia abruptly turned the tide by responding with a three-goal to cut the deficit to one with 2:32 left in the period. Gianna Huet bumped the York lead to three before the end of the first quarter with a pair of goals, including one on the woman-up unit.

The Spartans routed the Golden Wolves, 7-0, in the second quarter which fueled an 11-0 run Spartan run that stretched into the third quarter and capped by another Huet goal who scored three times and racked up four points on the run. Julianna Silvernale compiled three points with a goal and an assist on York's big run and Lauren Gillies also scored a pair. Bella Garabo and Audrey Simoes combined to stop all four of Alvernia shots during York's 11-0 run as AU went scoreless for 21 minutes.

Gillies scored three more times in the final 23 minutes as she established a new career-high with five and kept the Spartans rolling. Sarah Christensen also ensured York's victory as she won seven draw controls in the second half.
