Spartans Close Regular Season Against Stevens

YORK, Pa. - The York men's wrestling team closed out their regular season and dual season with a 42-3 loss to No. 13 Stevens at home on Saturday.

Prior to the match, the York wrestling program honored its six senior student-athletes: Jared Bair, AJ DeVries, Bryan Diaz, Brock Hofler, Nick Paolucci and TJ Quelet.

Jacob Kresicki captured York's lone win of the day with an 8-6 victory over Vincent Principe at 125 lbs. The Spartan freshman is now 17-16 overall and 6-8 in dual meets this season.

The Ducks rolled on and claimed bonus points at 133, 141 and 149 lbs. Spartan Sophomore Wyatt Patzke nearly pulled off a major upset over fourth-ranked Ryan Smith at 157 lbs. as he opened up a 14-5 over the Duck, but Smith came storming back to claim a 19-15 victory.

Stevens had other close calls at 165 and 285, but won three of the final five bouts with bonus points to roll to their third-straight dual meet win of the season.
