YORK, PA – The York College men's swim team had a successful first day at the 2024 Middle Atlantic Conference swim championships at Graham Aquatic Center in York. The Spartans are second of 12 teams as they accumulated 272 points during the day.
Stevens leads the way in the team standings with 325 points. The Spartans are second followed by Arcadia (259.5), Widener (252) and Hood (146.5) to round out the top five team scores.
The day was highlighted by the Spartan performance in the 50 free. Sophomore
Bryan Collins won gold with a school record time of 20.80. Senior teammate
Collin Draminski, the previous owner of the school record, also bettered the previous mark as he touched the wall in a time of 20.87 to earn the silver medal in the event.
Nick Bordovsky joined Collins and Draminski in the finals with a sixth-place finish and a time of 21.43.
Braeden Emore earned an 11
th place finish in the 50 free, recording a time of 21.87.
Liam Perrin earned a spot in the finals of the 500 free and finished seventh overall with a time of 4:50.16.
Connor Spillman and
Alex Daniele both earned top 16 finishes as Spillman was 13
th while Daniele was 15
th in the event.
Matthew Peters was fifth Spartan who earned a spot in the finals of his event as he placed seventh in the 200 IM with a time of 1:57.40. Freshman
Leo Ott also earned a berth in the 200 IM finals as he placed eighth with a time of 1:58.08.
The 200 medley relay team of Draminski, Peters, Bordovsky and Collins combined to finish third with a time of 1:35.87 to earn third-team All-MAC honors.

The Spartans return to action on Friday morning when they kick off day two of the championships. The action begins with the preliminaries of the 400 IM and includes the 100 fly, and the 200 free. The prelims start at 9:30 am. The Friday finals begin at 5:30 pm.
