LANCASTER, PA – The York College men's track and field squad opened their 2024-25 indoor campaign with a trip to Lancaster to compete in the Diplomat Open hosted by Franklin & Marshall College on Friday.
The Spartans had four individual winners in the meet.
Aidan Rollinson posted a big win in the weight throw with a best distance of 15.94 meters.
Edwin Niemandt recorded a win in the high jump as he tied a PR with a best height of 1.93 meters. Grad student
Andrew Mott picked up a win in the shot put as he dominated the event with a best throw of 16.28 meters. Mott best throw was 2.55 meters in front of the second-place finisher. Senior
Pierce Nolan posted a win in the 800 with a time of 2:01.67.
York notched 15 top ten finishes in the meet. Freshman
Hunter Moore recorded a pair of top three finishes in his first collegiate meet. He was second in the triple jump and third in the long jump in his Spartan debut.
York was outstanding in the pole vault as they had four of the top eight finishers in the event. Freshman
Brody Weachter led the way in the pole vault as he was second with a best height of 4.39 meters in his collegiate debut.
Sam Dickmyer was fifth in the event followed by
Jonah Arnold in sixth and
Teddy Peterson in eighth.
Sophomore
Ethan Jones earned a fifth place finish in the 60 hurdles for the Spartans.
Beau Linsenbigler (weight throw) and
Seth Topfer (800) each earned sixth place finishes in their events.
Alex Forbes (weight throw) and
Shaun Apsley (400) each finished with seventh place finishes for the Green and White.
