Spartans Defeat LVC in Saturday Tri-Match

YORK, Pa. - The Spartan women's volleyball team defeated Lebanon Valley in five sets in a home tri-match with Bridgewater on Saturday.

The Spartans stormed their way to a 25-15 win in the first set, but then the Dutchmen battled back to win the second set 25-23 and the third set 25-16. York evened up the match with a 25-20 win in the fourth set as the Spartans hit .312 collectively and owned 4-0 edge in blocks. After four lead changes the Spartans edged out a wild back-and-forth 15-13 victory in the fifth set to claim the match.

Georgianna Kahley put together an outstanding all-around performance as she led all players with a career-high tying 18 kills to go along with 11 digs for her sixth double-double of the season. The Spartans racked up a season-high 13 blocks with Morgan Nolte posting three solo blocks and a pair of two block assists, and Liz Kerin contributing five block assists and one solo block.

Bridgewater 3, York 0
The Eagles had their way in the first set as they hit .371 en route to a convincing 25-13 victory. Bridgewater also hit over .300 in the second set to cruise to a 25-19 victory. The Eagles hit .321 in third as they closed out the set and the match on a 10-2 run to claim a 25-17 win.

Jennifer Taylor tied for the match lead with 11 kills as she hit .364. Kahley led the Spartans with nine digs to finish the day with 20 total.

What's Next
The Spartans continue their home stand on Tuesday night with a Commonwealth contest against Stevenson at 7 p.m.
