How It Happened
The Spartans scored the first point of the night, but the Eagles countered with a 6-0 run on their way to a 25-19 first set victory. Jennifer Taylor led all players with six kills while hitting .444 in the first set, but York struggled to find a complement to Taylor offensively as no other Spartan had more than two kills in the frame. The Eagles hit .294 collectively in the first set and defended well with 17 total digs.

The two teams battled into an 11-11 tie in the second set before Eastern ripped off four unanswered points which sparked a 14-6 run to clinch a 25-17 win. The Spartans handed the Eagles six points with attack errors on that closing run and finished the set hitting .067.

Eastern never trailed in the third set as they rolled to a 25-11 victory. The Eagles hit a robust .455 as a team in the final frame and owned a 12-6 margin in kills. Bridgette Kelly had a fantastic set for EU as she led the team with three kills and contributed to three blocks.
