ANNVILLE, PA – The York College volleyball squad saw their four-match win streak come to an end on Thursday evening as former MAC Commonwealth foe Lebanon Valley downed the Spartans 3-1 in Annville. The Spartans captured set one 25-21 but the Dutchmen won the final three 25-17, 25-18, and 25-23.
The Spartans fall to 6-3 overall while Lebanon Valley improves to 5-4.

How It Happened
• The first set was back and forth as there were seven ties in the first 22 points of the match. The Spartans went on a 7-4 run to push out to an 18-14 lead capped with a
Gianna Krinock kill. The Dutchmen cut the Spartan lead to one at 21-20 but York ended the set on a 4-1 run with an
Alyssa Mott service ace as York captured set one 25-21. York hit .258 in the first set while LVC hit just .088. York had five service errors and three aces in the first.
• The Dutchmen tied the match at one set each in the second. LVC sprinted out to a 5-1 lead but York battled back to tie the set at nine on a
Jackie Karcz service ace. The set was tied again at 10 but LVC went on a 10-3 run to gain control of the game. Taylor McInerney had three kills for the LVC during the spurt. The Dutchmen scored five of the final nine points of the set to earn the 25-17 victory. York struggled offensively in the set as they hit negative .026 with nine attack errors and just eight kills in 39 attempts. The Dutchmen hit .333 in the set.
• The third set saw the two teams go back and forth with four ties in the first ten points. The Dutchmen then went on a 9-3 run to take a 14-8 lead. McInerney had another three kills on the run for LVC. York scored four of the next six points to get to within four points at 16-12. The Dutchmen finished the set on a 9-6 run to post the 25-18 set two win. LVC hit a blistering .290 in the set while York also aided their cause with six service errors.
• The Spartans got off to a good start in the fourth set with an early 6-3 lead. They continued to lead until the Dutchmen tied the set at nine. The set would be tied 11 more times with the final time coming at 23 on a Spartan service error. The Dutchmen earned the final two points of the set on a pair of Spartan attack errors, finishing off the 3-1 win. LVC once again had a strong offensive set as they hit .280.
