Team Records
York 6-2
Cheyney 0-1

How It Happened
  • The Spartans rolled to a 25-12 first set victory sparked by an 8-0 run to open the match. Abby Diehl highlighted the set for York with her 10 assists and three service aces. Cheyney struggled to gain traction and fell behind quickly with a -.143 hitting percentage in the opening set.
  • York followed up the first set with another 25-12 win in the second. The set started out competitive as York clung to a 5-3 lead, but then a string of five Spartan kills sparked a 6-0 run which put the Green and White in the driver's seat the rest of the way. Alyssa Mott led the York offensive effort in the second set with four service aces to go along with seven assists.
  • The Spartans finished strong as a 10-1 opening run led to a 25-13 victory in the third and final set of the evening. Mott once again racked up four aces, including three down the stretch to seal the win, in addition to compiling 10 assists and two kills.
