How It Happened
The Spartans faced an early 2-1 deficit as the Pride used a stall tactic to perfection through the first 10 minutes to gain the early advantage. The Spartans answered with three-straight tallies in the last three minutes of the first quarter to take a 4-2 lead into the quarter break. Zach Mentzer started the run as he transitioned from defense to offense with a spin move before ripping a shot past Keegan Billie. Then, Ames Clark connected with Will Harnick for the second time in the quarter to cap the run.

York erupted for a season-high 11 goals in the second quarter to take a 15-3 halftime advantage. The Spartans started the quarter with three goals in less than a minute, including a pair by Ethan Greene and Harnick 10 seconds apart. Harnick and Ben Mayer each netted a hat trick in the quarter, while Michael Russo also compiled three points with a goal and two assists.

Vinny Facciponti played a huge role in York's early domination as he went 17-for-18 at the faceoff dot in the first half, including a perfect 11-for-11 in the second quarter, with a goal and 14 ground balls. York's lopsided advantage in possession resulted in a 40-14 shot margin aided also by a 31-7 advantage in ground balls.

After a subdued third quarter which resulted in a pair goals by Tyler Palehonki and JD Townsend seven seconds apart, York poured on six more in the fourth quarter. Justin Hartz tallied twice to lead a pack of five different goal scores as 15 different Spartans scored on the night.
