YORK, PA – The ninth ranked York College women's lacrosse team remained perfect in the MAC Commonwealth with a 22-2 win over Eastern University on Saturday in York.
It was a big day for the Spartans as the win was the 200
th career victory for Spartan head coach
Jen Muston and York celebrated their seven seniors pregame.
The Spartans improve to 10-3 overall and are now 4-0 in MAC Commonwealth play. The Eagles fall to 0-12 overall and are 0-5 in the league.
How It Happened
• Senior
Teresa Matthias kicked off the scoring with her 18
th goal of the year just 28 seconds into the game. The goal gave Matthias her 100
th career point for her Spartan career. The Spartans scored three more goals before the game was five minutes old.
Sydney Mentzer, Matthias and
Kate Walsh each scored for York during the opening five minutes. The Green and White added five more tallies in the first quarter as they led 9-0 after 15 minutes of play.
• York continued on the offensive attack in the second quarter as they added six more goals for the 15-0 halftime lead. York had five different goal scorers in the quarter as
Juliana Silvernale notched a pair of goals in the period.
• The scoring pace in the second half slowed significantly with the clock running. Four different Spartans scored for York in the quarter as

Christina Vendelis notched goals for York in the third as the lead was 19-0.
• The Eagles got on the board to start the fourth as Emerson Shauger scored for Eastern.
Lauren Gillies scored her first collegiate goal with 9:35 left in the game. Another Eastern goal followed before
Riley Long and
Madison Hamilton each scored their first goals of the season to provide for the final 22-2 margin of victory.
