READING, PA – The York College baseball squad extended their win streak to five with a sweep of Albright in a MAC Commonwealth doubleheader on Saturday in Reading. The Spartans won game one 13-6 and followed that with a 13-2 victory in game two.
The five-game win streak comes after the Spartans suffered a six-game skid in early March.

How It Happened
• The first inning was an eventful one. The Spartans loaded the bases with one out in the top of the inning.
Jacob Deimling plated a pair with a double for the early led.
Brendan Martin followed that with a two-run single to give York the 4-0 lead. The Lions took advantage of some shaky Spartan defense early on as two York errors allowed Albright to plate a trio of unearned runs.
• York added a pair of runs on the third as York loaded the base with two outs.
Gabe Trevena drew a walk to drive in
Connor Pickle and then
Michael Tinneny drew a second walk with the bases loaded for the 6-3 York lead.
• The Spartans tacked on a single run in the fourth as Deimling tripled and scored on a Martin RBI single. Albright trimmed the Spartan lead to 7-5 with a pair of runs on two hits in the bottom of the fourth.
• The York offense continued to click in the fifth as Tinneny tripled to score Travena. Tinneny came around to score on an
Andrew Santarpia RBI single as the Spartan lead was 9-5.
• Albright got their sixth run of the game in the fifth on a Reece Adam RBI double.
• York loaded the bases with one out in the top of the seventh. Deimling plated York's tenth run as he was hit by a pitch. Martin then drew a walk to make it 12-6.
Lucas Prendergast was hit by a pitch to force home the 13
th run of the game.

How It Happened
• The Spartans got off to another quick start in the top of the first.
Andrew Santarpia opened the scoring with an RBI single to start the scoring. After a fly out,
Brendan Martin ripped a two-run triple to right as the York lead was 3-0. Martin eventually scored on a wild pitch for the 4-0 York lead.

Gabe Trevena made it 6-0 with a two-run triple with one out in the second. He scored on a
Michael Tinneny RBI ground out to third.
• Martin was in the middle of York's next scoring inning as he tripled with no outs in the third to score
Jacob Deimling with York's eighth run. Martin then came around to score when
Garrett Kile grounded out to short for the RBI.
• York added three more in the fifth as Santarpia scored on a Kile sacrifice fly.
Robby Elzinga then lashed a two-run double as the lead grew to 12-0. York got their final run in the sixth on a
Chris Betler home run to center.
• The Lions spoiled the shutout in the bottom of the sixth with two runs on four hits. It could have been worse for York but Albright left the bases loaded.
