Hood 4-20 (1-14 MACC)
York 10-14 (7-8 MACC)

How It Happened
  • The Blazers maintained the lead for the majority of the first quarter sitting in front, 12-11, through the first period. Hood was led by guard Tam Sanford with six points. The Spartans' only lead of the opening quarter came very early on at the 4-2 mark.
  • The Blazers extended the lead to 16-11 to start the second quarter with contributions from forward Phillipa Clouse, but Alyssa Hocker's three would bring the Spartans within two at the five minute mark. Both teams traded baskets until a Tori Geitner three pointer gave the Spartans their just their second lead of the game. With 1:30 left, the Spartans would find themselves up 21-20, but that lead would not last long as a Snoop Robinson basket put the Blazers back in the lead. The lead changed one more time when Taylor Brenneman sank a pair of free throws to put the Spartans up, 23-22, heading into halftime.
  • Spartans came out hot with eight quick points to start the third with a Taylor Burda three and four points from Bradi Zumbrum. That 8-0 run was stopped at the 7:14 mark with a Clouse layup making it 30-24 in favor of York. The Blazers would claw their way back to come within two points on a Marlise Newson layup with only 1:30 left in the third, and they kept that momentum rolling as they tied it up, 37-37, with 29 seconds left by a Clouse layup. Savannah Wilson would go to sink two free throws to put York back in the lead by two to end the third.
  • Two minutes into the fourth quarter, the Blazers would find themselves within one until a Burda three made it a 44-40 ball game and the Spartans would not look back after that. York held the Blazers to just five total points for the rest of the quarter. Zumbrum (16), Hocker (12), and Geitner (10) led the Spartans in scoring on the night and propelled them to their 10th win on the season in their final home game.
