LANCASTER, PA – The York College women's track & field squad opened their 2023-24 indoor campaign on Friday evening at the Diplomat Open hosted by Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA.
The event was a non-team scoring meet.
The Spartans had nine top-ten finishers on Friday led by junior
Payton Mann as she recorded York's highest finish as she was fourth in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:04.53.
Junior
Isabella Bankert finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.00. Teammate
Claudia Gross placed seventh with a time of 10.39 seconds.
York had a strong sprinting performance in the 60-meter dash.
Keziah Boyce led the way with a fifth-place finish in a time of 8.33 seconds. Freshman
Natalie Cottrell finished seventh in the event recorded a time of 8.42 seconds. Freshman
Zoe Petsch was the third Spartan to finish in the top ten in the event with a time of 8.50 seconds. Boyce also had a sixth-place finish in the 200-meter run with a time of 27.65 seconds.
York got a pair of top ten's in the weight throw. Junior
Zoe Myers finished eighth with a best distance of 11.87 meters while freshman
Hailey Sherwood was ninth with a distance of 11.84 meters.

The Spartans are now off until January 14 when they travel to the Kaye and JJ Smith Invitational hosted by Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. The meet is set for a noon start.
