YORK, PA – The York College men's swim squad concluded their 2023 Spartan Splash Invitational in York on Sunday. The Spartans finished second in the five-team event as York accumulated 893 points. Bridgewater (Va.) won the invite with 925.5 points. Hood finished third with 555.5 points while Cabrini (183 points) and Albright (81 points) rounded out the field.
York did not have an individual win on Sunday but they did have four runner-up finishes to go along with four other third place finishes.
James Lyon broke another record as he set a new school-record in the 100 free as he touched the wall in a time of 46.49.
Liam Perrin was the runner-up in the 1650 free with a time of 17:08.06. Freshman
Leo Ott posted a second-place finish in the 200 backstroke while senior
Matthew Peters was the runner up in the 200 fly.
Connor Spillman,
Collin Draminski,
Chris Hulsart, and
Alex Daniele each earned a third-place finish for the day. Spillman was third in the 1650 free while Draminski was the second runner-up in the 200 backstroke. Hulsart's third came in the 200 breaststroke while Daniele earned his third in the 200 fly.
Freshman
Braeden Emore earned a fifth in the 100 free while
Chris Balderson (200 backstroke) and
Grier Martin (200 fly) each earned a seventh-place finish.
Bryan Collins (100 free) and
Jon Salazar (200 breaststroke) rounded out the Spartans' top eight finishers with eight place finishes in their events.
