YORK, PA – The York College women's basketball squad pushed their win streak to three as they celebrated Senior Day with a 60-38 MAC Commonwealth win over Eastern University on Saturday afternoon in York.
Prior to the game, the Spartans honored their three seniors as
Bradi Zumbrum,
Savannah Wilson, and
Tori Geitner were recognized in their last Saturday home game of the regular season.
The Spartans improve to 7-11 overall and 4-5 in the Commonwealth. The Eagles fall to 3-13 overall and 1-8 in the league.

How It Happened
• The Spartans got off to a strong start as they led 7-0 just over three minutes into the game. The two teams went scoreless for 3:54 after Eastern's first bucket as the offenses struggled to score. The Spartans pushed their lead to 11-4 on a
Savannah Wilson bucket. York would end the first quarter with an 14-8 lead.
• Early in the second quarter, the Eagles trimmed York's lead to five at 18-14. Both teams struggled to find the shooting touch in the quarter but York did outscore the Eagles 6-0 over 7:03 of the quarter as York's lead grew to 24-14. Eastern got a Tyerra Jarvis jumper just before the horn as the Spartans settled for a 24-16 halftime lead.
• The opening minutes of the second half saw the teams trade hoops for the opening five minutes of the quarter. York then fashioned a 10-2 run over 3:25 as the Spartans pushed the lead to 16 at 40-24.
Taylor Burda had six points on the spurt while
Bradi Zumbrum scored the other four.
• The Spartans played a great fourth quarter as they pulled away from the Eagles. York kicked off the quarter with a 16-3 run over the opening six minutes of the quarter to push the lead to 56-29 with 3:32 left in the contest. That 27-point lead would be York's largest and would carry them to the 22-point conference win.

York finished the game shooting 45.6% (26-for-57) while they held the Eagles to just 21.5% (14-for-65) from the floor … York went 5-for-20 from three while the Eagles were just 3-for-20 … York went to the line a mere four times in the game, converting three of their chances … the Eagles out-rebounded York 45-41 in the game … the Spartans never trailed in the game as they led 38:49 of the 40 minutes … York dished out 18 assists in the win … York forced 17 Eastern turnovers which led to 14 Spartan points … York had a big 34-16 edge in points in the paint … Wynter Bess led the way for Eastern with 12 points, five rebounds, and two steals … Taryn Woodson, the league's leading rebounder, pulled down 13 rebounds while she also had seven points … freshman Jeriyah Johnson, the Eagles leading scorer, was limited to eight points as the Spartans forced her to go 4-for-20 from the floor.
