How It Happened
  • The Mustangs set the tone early as they opened the game with a 13-0 run on which they scored 12 of their points from beyond the three-point arc. A pair of Bradi Zumbrum finally put York on the board with 5:03 left in the first quarter and also broke an 0-for-4 start from the free throw line for the Spartans. Stevenson finished the quarter with a 22-7 lead on a 57.1% effort from the field, including an impressive 55.6% performance from beyond the arc.
  • York fell behind by as much as 25 midway through the second quarter when Emori Jeleskis knocked down Stevenson's fourth three-pointer of the quarter. The tide abruptly turned as the Spartans would go on to finish the quarter on a 13-2 run to trail, 37-23, at halftime. York went 4-for-8 during that 13-point run with Taylor Burda (6) and Savannah Wilson (5) combining for 11 of those points. Stevenson finished the quarter shooting 1-for-6 from the floor.
  • York limited the Mustangs to just nine points in third quarter, but despite the great defensive effort, the Green and White struggled to gain ground as they mustered up just 10 points of their own in the period. The Spartans held Stevenson to just five points in the last 6:41 of the quarter. York's 6-for-6 performance from the free throw line made the difference offensively in the third quarter as the Spartans shot just 2-for-19 from the floor.
