WESTMINSTER, MD – The York College women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision at #19 McDaniel College on Saturday afternoon in Westminster, Maryland.
The Spartans suffered their first shutout loss as they fall to 2-2 overall. McDaniel improves to 1-1-2 overall with the victory.
How It Happened
• The Green Terror defense stifled the Spartan offense in the first half as McDaniel limited York to just one shot in the opening 45 minutes of play. Conversely, McDaniel pressured the Spartan defense early and often as they put four shots on goal in the opening 18 minutes of play. The strain put on the Spartan defense finally gave way to a McDaniel goal at the 18:18 mark as Allison Storm fed Kiersten Crowley with a pass that Crowley put in the back of the net for a 1-0 Green Terror lead.
• The Green Terror made it 2-0 1:55 into the second half as they were credited with a Spartan own goal. McDaniel closed out the scoring just over 11 minutes later as Taylor Clawson scored off a pass from Elaina Kluttz for the 3-0 advantage.
• The Green Terror finished the game with a 17-6 edge in total shots and a 7-1 margin in shots on goal.
