YORK, PA – The York College baseball team stayed hot with a 20-11 win over Franklin & Marshall College in a Sunday non-conference game at a chilly Jaquet Field. The Spartans won have won three straight as they scored 57 runs over the weekend. The win brings the Spartans' overall record back to .500.

How It Happened
• The Diplomats got on the board early as Spencer Berson ripped a lead-off triple off the center field wall He scored on a Will Samuel RBI ground out for the 1-0 F&M lead. The Spartans wasted little time in responding.
Robby Elzinga and
Austin Denlinger drew lead off walks and moved up one base on a balk.
Jack Barry plated Elzinga with a sacrifice fly to left, tying the game at one.
Joe Capobianco and
Andrew Santarpia drew back-to-back walks to load the bases for
Brendan Martin. Martin drilled a double to right center, clearing the bases for the 4-0 lead. Martin advanced to third on the throw and scored on
Michael Tinneny RBI ground out.
• F&M exploded for a big inning in the third as the Diplomats pushed across seven runs to take an 8-5 lead. Patrick Cettina kicked off the outburst with a three-run shot to left. The Diplomats would get their seven runs on six hits with two walks and a hit batter. F&M tacked on a run in the top of the fourth with a Zach Masnikoff RBI double, pushing the lead to 9-5 heading to the bottom of the inning.
• The Spartans came roaring back in the bottom of the fourth.
Austin Denlinger plated the first run with an RBI single to score
Brian Jakubek. The big blow of the inning came from
Jack Barry as the Spartan first baseman blasted a three-run homer deep to right, his third home run of the weekend. The Diplomats had first base open as Barry was up in the count 3-1 but F&M elected to pitch to him and he made them pay, tying the game at nine with the blast.
• York took the lead for good in the fifth as Capobianco had a two-out, two-run single, putting the Spartans up 11-9. York kept rolling in the sixth as Martin opened the inning with a triple down the right field line. He scored when Tinneny blasted a two-run homer to right center. York tacked on a third run in the inning when Denlinger tripled to drive in Jakubek with two outs.
• The Green and White added three more runs in the seventh as
Davaughn Reid, Jakubek and Elzinga each had RBI singles with two outs to push the lead to 17-9.
• The Diplomats nicked Spartan reliever
Bryce Shaffer for two runs in the top of the eight but York pushed three more across in the bottom of the frame as Tinneny blasted a three-run homer deep to right for his third bomb of the weekend, providing for the final 20-11 margin of victory.
