Team Records
#1/2 RIT 3-0
#5/7 York 2-1

How It Happened
The Tigers notched the first tally on a Quinn Commandant goal 1:02 into the contest, but the Spartans answered back less than four minutes later as Eric Ranck tallied his first of the three on the day. Just 16 seconds after Ranck's game-tying tally, RIT went to work and ripped off five-straight tallies before Dylan Wolf scored with 2:11 left in the first quarter. Tigers led 6-2 at the end of the first 15 minutes as the Spartans owned a 7-2 edge in faceoffs and RIT owned a 6-3 margin in the turnover battle.

The Tigers pounced on York again 33 seconds into the second quarter and tacked on another two minutes later to open up an 8-2 margin. Will Harnick and Ben Mayer got two back for York before the end of the quarter as RIT took a 9-4 lead into halftime.

The pivotal point of the game occurred early in the third quarter when RIT's Luke Pilcher tallied a pair of goals 16 seconds apart in the first minute of play, which gave the Tigers a commanding 11-4 lead. The Spartans battled back and finished with three goals of their own in the third quarter, with Ranck scoring twice, as they trailed 13-7 heading into the fourth.

Harnick opened the scoring in the fourth quarter with a man-up goal and Mayer tacked on an even-strength tally with 10:07, but that would be it for the Spartan offense the rest of the way. RIT added on three more goals in the fourth for good measure, including a pair from Pilcher.

The Tigers owned a 9-5 edge in faceoffs in the second half and won the second-half ground ball battle, 20-14.

Up Next
The Spartans wrap up their four-game home stand next Saturday as the welcome their former longtime conference rival #2/1 Salisbury to Kinsley Field for a 1 p.m. tilt.
