READING, PA – The York College men's lacrosse team opened up MAC Commonwealth play with a 25-4 win at Alvernia University on Wednesday afternoon in Reading, PA. The sixth-ranked Spartans have now won four straight as they had 16 different players score goals in the win.

How It Happened
• The Spartans got off to a quick start as
Ames Clark found the back of the net 15 seconds into the game to give York the early lead.
Gunnar Reynolds made it 2-0 42 seconds later for his sixth goal of the year. The Spartans got five more first quarter goals Clark scored a second goal followed by goals from
Dylan Wolf,
Eric Ranck,
Jack Grayson, and
Jarrod Marenger put the Green and White up 7-0 after 15 minutes of play.
• York pushed it to 10-0 thanks to goals from Reynolds,
Michael Russo, and
Ben Mayer before the Golden Wolves got on the board courtesy of a Kenneth Howley tally at the 11:27 mark. York answered with four more goals, including a pair from
Ethan Fought, to push the advantage to 14-1. Alvernia got a second goal from Louis Ferrara but the Spartans ended the half with three goals including two from
JD Townsend, giving York a 17-2 bulge at the half.
• The third quarter was much like the first two as the Spartans scored six straight to open up a 23-2 advantage. Townsend and
Brooks Almond each scored two goals during the run while
Hugo Spencer and
Eben Ordakowski scored the other two goals for York. Alvernia got their third goal of the game with 3:09 left in the third as Peter Capasso scored for the Golden Wolves.
• York's
Rhys McCarver and
Justin Hartz each scored their first collegiate goals in the fourth for York as the lead grew to 25-3. Alvernia scored the final goal of the game to provide for the 21 goal Spartan win.
