#14 Spartans Roll Past #24 Haverford to Fourth-Straight Road Win

HAVERFORD, Pa. - The No. 14 York women's lacrosse team dominated from start to finish in an 18-6 victory at #24 Haverford as the Spartans remained undefeated on the road this season.

The Spartans had this one in control early as they led 12-4 at halftime and finished strong as Riley DiFiore and the defense pitched a fourth-quarter shutout. Logan Ward led all players with a career-high five points on a career-high best four goals, while Jenna Cholowinski collected a career-best 12 draw controls.

Team Records
#14 York 4-2
#24 Haverford 4-2

How It Happened
Each team found success early as they traded goals to get to a 2-2 tie with 6:10 left in the first. The final six minutes of the quarter belonged to the Spartans as they ended the period on a 4-0 run with four different players accounting for the goals.

A pair of saves by Riley DiFiore in the first two minutes of the second quarter setup the Chloe MacDonald free-position goal on the other end on York's second possession of the period. The Fords fought back to cut the York lead to 8-4 with 9:39 left, but the Spartans ended the second the same way they ended the first quarter, with another 4-0 run. York won the final four draws of the quarter with Jenna Cholowinski scooping up three of them and scoring two of the goals down the stretch.

The Spartans limited Haverford's chances in the third quarter as York won five of the six draws. The lone draw the Fords did win was sandwiched between a pair of goals, but those would end up being the last tallies of the game for the home squad with 4:30 left in the third.

DiFiore made three more saves in the fourth quarter, including one on a free-position attempt, to post the clean sheet in the final 15 minutes. York owned a 7-3 shot advantage in the fourth as Riley Roeder, Zoe Kluegel and Riley Long accounted for the 3-0 goal margin in the period.

Up Next
The Spartans return home Tuesday as the early gauntlet continues with a matchup against No. 5 Middlebury.
