How It Happened
Gettysburg blitzed York with six goals in the first quarter as the Bullets racked up a 6-2 lead. York got on the board midway through the quarter with a goal by Madison Kurland with the extra-player advantage.

Kiersten Blanchard stopped the bleeding for York with a tally 16 seconds left in the quarter, which started a four-goal run as the Spartans came roaring back to cut the deficit to one (6-5) with 9:46 left in the second. Blanchard bookended the run with a pair of goals while Celly Arthur and Kurland also got involved with the scoring effort.

York managed just four more shots the rest of the half, two of which were saved by Bullet goalie Shannon Twill, while Gettysburg piled up a 4-1 goal margin to take a 10-6 lead into halftime.

Riley DiFiore made four saves in the third quarter, including two free-position shots, on a total of seven shots faced as she anchored a defense that blanked the Bullets in the third. Kurland gave the team a boost as she finished an assist from Chloe MacDonald in transition with 13 seconds left in the quarter while playing a player down.

The two teams traded blows in the first 2:25 of the fourth quarter, but Gettysburg responded 24 seconds after York scored to bump the lead back up to four and put the clamps on York the rest of the way. The Bullets won five of eight draws in the fourth quarter and cashed in three times on free-position shots.
